Critteraid works closely with the Rawsons who own Tanglewood Farm. The Rawsons have vast knowledge and experience working with donkeys, horses, sheep, goats, pigs and even chickens.
Tanglewood was home to our beautiful departed pig, Stella and our "Huff 'n Puff Campaign to provide Stella with her very own brick house was enormously successful. Mandy and Jerry, along with Carol Patenaude, also spearheaded our Premarin Mare campaign we dubbed, "Remember Me?" to bring attention to the plight of Premarin mares who were no longer valuable to the operation. Mandy and Carol repeatedly visited Premarin ranches on the prairies and bought and brought home foals and one very special mare, "Rainbow" for adoption. Rainbow has since been retired and lives at Broken Oaks Horse Sanctuary (www.brokenoaks.org) being cared for by Gary and Jean Pratt.
Tanglewood Farm was used during the Mount Ida wildfire to provide shelter for displaced wildlife as well as domestic pets. Tanglewood Farm has also been the home to approximately 40 feral and semi feral cats that Critteraid has offered sanctuary to from other animal organizations. Feral cats will always have a special place in the Critteraid organization. Mandy's dedication and understanding of these cats has been very much appreciated by Critteraid and a blessing for these abandoned, abused and misunderstood survivors.
